Frequently asked questions
Can I bring this checklist into the test?
Most states do not let you use notes during the pre-trip. Use this list to practice until you know it by heart.
Is this checklist the same in every state?
The order and items are close in most states, but small details differ. Always compare it with your state CDL manual.
How should I study with a checklist?
Say each item out loud while touching the part, then cover the list and try to recall the next item before you look.
What does 4/32 mean on a steer tire?
It is the minimum legal tread depth for steer tires: four thirty seconds of an inch in every major groove. Other tires need 2/32.
