About RigReady CDL
Last updated · By David Nelson
RigReady CDL was built by David Nelson, an Army veteran going through Class A CDL school, who wanted a better way to drill the pre-trip and backing outside the yard.
It started as a study tool for one student and grew into free trainers anyone can open on their phone.
Why it exists
Yard time is short and the pre-trip script is long. Most study material is a stack of pages with no pictures and no way to practice backing. RigReady puts a real truck walkaround and a backing yard in your pocket, so you can practice on a lunch break or the night before the test.
How it is built
Everything runs in the browser. There is no account to make and nothing to install. The trainers work best on a phone, held sideways for backing.
Who it is for
- Class A CDL students in school or studying on their own
- Drivers retesting a part they failed
- CDL instructors who want a practice tool for the class
